For our Foundation Cycle, we will explore the Iranian revolution (reading Persepolis) and compare it to our American revolution and a revolution that students will explore for themselves (using the New York Time Revolt! Unit Plan). We will then segue into a study of our founding documents including the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, ending with the Mars Simulation Constitution Project where students will create and negotiate a new constitution for people who have been stranded on a colony on Mars based on our American Constitution.
