In this cycle there are 2 unique things. I set up ELA and Math to be around a business theme. In Math, I framed Math around applying the skills to a business plan. They created a business in groups and each week added to their plan or had tasks to complete using their new math content. In ELA students researched a famous businessman and wrote a biography about them. They also wrote an autobiography, including their latest “business venture”. The second unique item is the implementation of Engrams, a visual representation of your week. We ask students each weekend to create a drawing that encompasses the things they did and learned that week. We ask that they choose one theme to their Engram and then incorporate all the other items from the week within that theme in creative ways.
