CMStep Credential Program Tuition & Fees
1. 2025 Enrollment Fee: $875.00 – due at time of application, includes application processing, AMS/MACTE adult learner fees, and access to online prerequisite courses. Non-Refundable.
2. 2025 Additional Location Fee: $300 – due at time of application, applies to any additional location sites.
4. 2025 Tuition: $9,300 – due by the 1st day of coursework (Minimester I for Low-Residency, Philosophy for High-Residency).
Included in Tuition
- All academic coursework (both online and in-person)
- Books and materials, except those assigned for reading before Summer I Coursework
- Practicum site support:
- Two in-person visits
- One extensive video consultation
- Note: These are covered for sites within the Continental United States. Additional costs apply for locations beyond this area – please contact us for details.
- Room and board during the overnight portions of the Erdkinder experience
Not Included in Tuition
- Books assigned for reading before Summer I coursework
- Room and board for all other in-person coursework, except the overnight portions of the Erdkinder experience
- Fees related to extensions as outlined in the official CMStep Handbook
Adult learners are encouraged to choose the housing option that best fits their needs for their in-person training portions. Those enrolled in Cincinnati-based cohorts may want to consider the following local resources.

What surprised me from the very beginning was how much I enjoyed the work being assigned to me. But each time that I sat down to do my CMSTEP work, I found myself pulled into the work, often finding a flow state and losing track of time. The learning of pedagogical content and the history of Dr. Montessori herself was coupled with lots of self-reflection and analysis of my own ideas, notions, and understandings of the education process.
