Secondary Teacher Education Program Fees
1. 2024 Enrollment Fee: $875.00 – due at time of application, includes application processing, AMS/MACTE adult learner fees, and access to online prerequisite courses. Non-Refundable.
2. 2024 Additional Location Fee: $300 – due at time of application, applies to any additional location sites.
3. 2024 Tuition: $9,100.00 – due by the 1st day of coursework (Minimester I for Low-Residency, Philosophy for High-Residency).
Included in Tuition
- All in-person and online CMStep courses
- Reasonable expenses for adult learner practicum site visits and consultation within the Continental United States (2 in-person visits, 1 extensive video consultation) Visits beyond the Continental United States will incur additional costs. Please inquire.
- Books and materials (with the exception of any books assigned to be read before Summer 1 coursework)
- Room & board for the overnight portions of the Erdkinder experience
Not Included in Tuition
- Books assigned to be read before Summer 1 coursework
- Room & board for in-person coursework (with the exception of the overnight portions of the Erdkinder experience)
- Graduate credit from Xavier University (only Xavier University representatives can provide these full details)
- Costs associated with any extension fees detailed in official CMStep handbook

What surprised me from the very beginning was how much I enjoyed the work being assigned to me. But each time that I sat down to do my CMSTEP work, I found myself pulled into the work, often finding a flow state and losing track of time. The learning of pedagogical content and the history of Dr. Montessori herself was coupled with lots of self-reflection and analysis of my own ideas, notions, and understandings of the education process.
