This folder includes materials for a comprehensive Washington, DC Field Study that centers around the themes of interdependence, equity, and social justice. In this trip, which includes 4 full days in DC (and two travel days on either side) students will venture beyond the typical government buildings, museums, and monuments to get a sense of what Washington, DC is as a city and how people from different backgrounds throughout the city view their connection to the place. They will analyze the “shining city upon a hill” from diverse perspectives and consider how equity plays a role in how people see the city and, by extension, our nation.
