Our focus for this unit will be on exploring the big questions of historical figures in psychology, to gain an understanding of where this field emerged from. Next, we will dive into the research methods used in psychological studies, to include statistical analysis and an overview of ethics policies. From there, we will explore how biology impacts how we behave, which will include an overview of the nervous system, neurons, how drugs impact the nervous system, and brain structure and function. Last. we will explore how what we sense impacts what we perceive; this is to include the anatomy of the eyes and ear, as well as chemical and body senses. We will relate ALL of this back to the relationship we have with ourselves and others, with the goal of cultivating a more peaceful and accepting inner and outer world!
