Tobacco was a cash crop that prompted and continued the growth of European exploration, slavery, and fostered the economic stability of the American South.
This field study will examine how an idea, a talent, or a chance encounter can present an opportunity for someone or group to utilize his or her talents and ambitions. More importantly, it will look into “at what expense” can ambition limit freedom of expression and opportunity to showcase their talents and ideals.
Tobacco was gold in the south. African Americans know how to produce the crop. Would they have been able to create a Duke Homestead or American Tobacco Company?
