Throughout this unit, students develop and understanding of what it means to be a leader in the classroom, school, and community. They study a problem within their community and develop a plan that could be used to address the problem. Students lead through community service activities by picking up trash on the school grounds and a local park, and they serve lunch at a local soup kitchen.
