Lesson Objective: Students will review plate tectonics – Pangea and shifting of plates which resulted in our current continents. Students will also learn that plate movement continues and at what rate (slower than a finger nail grows). Students will be challenged to predict how the future continents of our planet look compared with today. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for interdependence.
Students will study natural disasters and their causes; they will study the effects natural disasters have on people and the land. Global warming will also be covered in connection with natural disasters.
