There was a great activity in here were we introduced Immigration. We had students come through Ellis Island with a specific identity. We also discussed separate but equal. For this we used a video called “A Class Divided” in which students were given collars and treated according to their collar color. We used this for a Seminar about equality and immigration. The other item that I have in here that I enjoyed were all of the Literature Circle sheets to organize the groups and the jobs. There is also a rubric for students to evaluate themselves and other group members.
