This cycle of study fouces on the patterns and behaviors of the Earth, Moon, Sun, Planets, and other celestial bodies in our universe. In the long-term project, students study astronomers throughout history and peice together the continuously changing story of our understanding of space. In this project, they reflect on how and why new ideas are sometimes accepted and sometimes rejected.
This cycle of study covers an entire trimester, and includes several individual 2-3 units of study.
